September 18, 2017 - Custer State Park. Hiking up Black Elk (Harney) Peak. Further up the trail you cross from Custer State Park into the federally designated Black Elk Wilderness. There is a small pole-mounted box with forms to fill out granting yourself a federal permit to enter the wilderness. The white copy goes in a slot most people can't find.
