2013 Beijing, Xiamen, Wuxi, and Shanghai China
March 15-24, 2013 - High school and college students from Wisconsin & Iowa visited several of China’s most consequential historic sites, shared cultural & educational experiences with their peers, & studied how China is addressing its environmental challenges in both rural and urban settings. The trip was sponsored by ENCSS (The Environment & Public Health Network for Chinese Students and Scholars) through the Rivers as Bridges program, a China-US, exchange dedicated to the understanding of shared natural resources challenges and the opportunities for next generation leaders to meet them together. Joining the students were Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp and Rick Otis, former Associate Administrator of the US EPA and distinguished advisor to the ENCSS.
